For nearly a decade, Ill Nino has helped shape Latin metal into something bigger than anyone had envisioned it to become. Tonight's show showed how their music has moved longtime fans that were jumping around within the crowd.

Their setlist consisted of songs spanning each of their four albums, and the crowd were on their feet through each of their songs. Led by frontman Cristian Machado, he was swaying his deadlocked head along with the variety of heavily grooved rhythms played throughout the night. He lead the crowd into jumping along with the band, and they followed each of his words. The reactions were energy packed, and rarely skipping a beat.

The band played longtime favorites like 'God Save Us' and 'How Can I Live,' as well as newer favorites like 'This Is War' to strong crowd reactions. Guitarists Ahrue Luster and Diego Verduzco, and bassist Lazaro Piza all interacted well with the crowd, jumping along with the grooving rhythms and moving around to hit the variety of sounds within the band's music. The band still are one of the more energetic live bands on the scene today.

One of the highlights is their Latin percussion jams, provided by drummer Dave Chavarri and percussionist Danny Couto. The two provide a unique style to their groove oriented sound that crosses modern metal, heavy guitar and mainstream rock influences. Also an appearance by Ankla percussionist Oscar Santiago, joining in the jam sessions on the congos, they gave the crowd an exciting segway that was equally as exciting as their main setlist.

They closed with 'I Am Loco,' a crowd favorite that gave them their last shot at bouncing along with the band. Ill Nino showed that they are continuing to bring energetic live shows at a time when bands are rediscovering themselves.
