When: Nov 24, 2008 Venue: House of Blues LA Where: Los Angeles Los Angeles hardcore band Terror faced quite the challenge of playing in front of diehard GWAR fans that were waiting for blood. The crowd got blood in a different form, as the band's aggressive sound got the crowd throwing elbows around and shedding some of the real kind.Los Angeles has never truly been an area that had produced hardcore bands in past years. While neighboring areas like Orange County and the Inland Empire areas have shared more of the spotlight in recent years for producing more hardcore bands, Los Angeles can finally take credit for introducing the world to Terror. 'We are not a rock band. We are not cool. I am a fucked up kid like a lot of you' was one of the many one-liners by the band's frontman Scott Vogel, relayed to the enthusiastic crowd throughout their set. The band's fast paced form of aggression got across to the crowd, as he encouraged the crowd to get crazy. He became worked up over the barrier that kept kids from climbing onto the stage to crowd surf, and encouraged them to climb over security to join the band on stage. The band's guitarists, Doug Weber and Martin Stewart, shared the vocal duties with Vogel. The three traded lines in such songs as 'Always The Hard Way' and ''Keep Your Mouth Shut.' Vogel spent as much time delivering the vocals as he did stirring up the crowd to increase the manicness. While that was happening, the two guitarists provided the vocal delivery throughout the set. The strongest crowd response came during crowd favorites 'Always The Hard Way,' 'Overcome,' and 'Push It Away.' Terror has shown that they are able to hold their own outside of a hardcore billing. While bills like this are not what Terror has usually played on in the past, tonight showed that Terror can play with anyone and hold their own.
