Lordi has been on quite the crazy adventure, all in the name of heavy metal. They wear monster costumes that drew much attention back in their home country of Finland. In fact, they perform wearing these costumes and play music that is heavily KISS influenced. They were impressive enough to win the Eurovision Song Contest in 2006, which brought a lot more publicity to the band than before.

Their live show consists of five heavily costumed figures on stage, moving around in front of a black backdrop that resembles a Transylvania like atmosphere. Fronted by their leader, Mr. Lordi, he prances across the stage in his demonic monster costume that somewhat resembles GWAR, and keeps the moderately packed crowd eagerly awaiting what else is to come. The costumed figures alone add to the stage show, where it enhances the rock n' roll experience Lordi creates.

They performed favorites like 'Who's Your Daddy,' a heavy rocker with a chorus line that is very memorable. Mr. Lordi's raspy vocals is easily distinguishable, as his monotone style works well with the band's humorous songs fans were ambious to hear. During each song, the band's bassist OX is one of the more active members on stage, often running closer to the mic for backing vocals.

Lordi showed that they are an entertaining hard rock band with a fun live show. But unfortunately, that is as far as they go. Their live performance is fairly close to their albums, but that is not enough for Lordi to be viewed as a band to watch out for. They are an acquired taste and is not for everyone. Engage them at your own risk.
