The past few years has seen a resurgence in classic heavy metal music. Many classic bands from the 1980s and 1990s have found new life in this current generation, due to a growing interest in heavy guitar oriented rock n roll music. This has worked in favor of Lizzy Borden, and they found fans that embraced their shock filled heavy metal show.

The band is playing larger crowds than what they usually play in front of in the U.S. In recent years, Lizzy Borden has enjoyed success in Europe. But the show they put on, things may change and their American fan base may be jumping on the train for the ride. Opening for Finnish theater-metallers Lordi, the crowd consisted of younger fans that got a crash course on what the band is all about.

Animated frontman Lizzy Borden kept the crowd on its feet by walking across the stage with his various horror masks on and waving his black baseball bat at the crowd. His stage persona resembles a cross between Marilyn Mason and Gene Simmons, with a psycho killer-esque type of look. Musically, Lizzy Borden stuck to their trademark classic heavy metal sound they have stuck to for over two decades. Guitarists Ira Black and Joe Steals laid down the guitars down heavy, wailing through layers of riffs through each song. This has been a favorite amongst their longtime fans, and it continues to win fans over.

One thing that separates Lizzy Borden from many bands is his old school approaches at shock values on stage. During 'Me Against The World,' he sticks his body through fake a television set that looks like out of a high school theatre production. He also has a female running on stage and fakes a bloody murde during one moment. The band stays creative despite not having a larger budget to put on such productions.

unreal -- Lizzy Borden are still playing. Wow. those dudes are old -- they could be my uncle's grandfathers but i bet they are still capable of some shock and awe (in a pantomine type way). do you have a set list per chance?
