30 Years Of Terror
A review of John Carpenter posted by RocknMetalWriter on November 3, 2008 2:09 PM
When: Nov 4, 2008 Venue: Pasadena Convention Center Where: Pasadena It's been 30 years and I can still sense the terror buried within me.... The terror that will never fade away or die. This rage and mayhem is only capable of being in the hands of the true evil being known to man kind, Michael Myers. This horror icon slasher began the horror icon chaos that is known as slasher flicks. Halloween has grown into a giant bubble of pure evil it cannot be contained anymore. The 30 Years of Terror created by Sean Clark unfolded itself this passed Halloween weekend and the tour took off well having a handful of Halloween fanatics lined up waiting to hop aboard the tour buses lined up outside the Pasadena Convention Center awaiting to witness the sights, sounds, and smells of the Myers chaos..... I aboarded the bus and rode in the front next to the actor Erik Preston who played the young Myers in Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers as the bus rode through the streets taking its fans all over seeing the original Myers house, and Strode home, along with many other various scenes and locations marked throughout Los Angeles. Such as the new Myers house filmed for Rob Zombie's Halloween remake and the famous hardware store and creepy alleyway where Dr. Loomis claimed he had shot him 6 times! Moving along the bus tour lasted about 6 hours fans chit chatting away about the films and upcoming horror releases in the upcoming year were also looking forward to the main event the convention happening the very next day. That day arrived without problem except a slight chill of cold rain air but nothing to harsh to spoil the fun. Once inside tables lined up back to back as actors and actresses and writers, producers and fans of all ages walked up and down the rows taking snap shots and saying hellos getting their memorable signed by their favorite characters. Three rooms were set up one being a second room for the actors and actresses to mingle with their fans, P.J. Stoles was one, big hit among other Halloween frame of glory acts. In the other room Halloween props from all the films were displayed having all the masks shinning brightly as other backdrops from Rob Zombie's film stood out for everyone to admire and take a snap shot of. In the last room is the discussions took place and cast and crew sat at their chairs answering questions and chatting about their roles and the reason they filmed the Halloween film they were in. Before the Halloween 2 crew had invaded the stage, a clip of the film was shown which excited the crowd more than ever before, as the cast walked upon the stage and answered the array of questions. When it was time for the Halloween 4 crew to arrive another clip was shown and the same thing was addressed. Malek Akkad spoke about the future happenings to the Halloween series stating clearly "There will be a Halloween 2 and Tyler Mane will return as Michael Myers!" Everyone cheered and chanted to the sound of that announcement, but soon would be told much later! All in all the Halloween 30 Years of Terror convention was a major hit and thrill for all horror film freaks of all sorts and ages. Leaving us saying "Evil Never Dies."
