nice music, now shut up about politics

I'm a huge fan of Tegan and Sara so it'd be great if they'd shut the fuck up about the state of politics in my country and sing a couple of tunes, get on the tour bus, go to the next town. But somewhere along the way in their short careers, they've confused performing and giving a state of the Union address.

All things considered, I should be writing a glittering review.
1. Good crowd: the crowd was a little too exactly like Tegan and Sara (hero-worship is one thing but 800 identikits is something else) but was really up for it.
2. Great opening acts: Girl in a Coma opened -- I think they are from texas. They were great, really, really great. A dude played and then Tegan and Sara.
3. Great venue: the Fonda is an awesome venue (mega-stars for the Fonda every time).
4. Great songs: Back In Your Head, The Con, So Jealous (so glad they played it).

it all should have added up to a fantastic night at the Fonda. But remember Tegan & Sara are quintessentially mindless girl rock which is why I love them. So I don't need (or want) a mindless diatribe about Palin, Prop 8, whatever stuff comes into their mind... it stops being fun really quickly. Because although I basically agree with them on Palin, prop 8 etc. they don't really know what they're talking about and more importantly it's not why I want to see them.

If I want to go to a policitical rally, I will go see an informed political analalyst or politician (or maybe Rage Against the Machine). But I don't need tegan and Sara bumming me out for an evening with mindless rambling about the qualifications or lack thereof of Sara Palin.

There I said it...

I thought they were good. Really good. Although they were a littl glib about the politics.

Do US acts go north of the border and tell crowds in Toronoto that Stephen Harper is a retarded jackass? It'd be funny if Motley Crue or Kid Rock did.. some all American band laying out what's what with politics north of the border.

I actually find it very nice that two people from another country actually care enough to try and convince some of this nations youth to vote(most don't because they don't care and they should) and if you listened they did know what they were talking about. Just because someone lives in another country doesn't mean they don't have a clue about foreign affairs that is unless your Palin. So shut up and just enjoy the show. It was awesome it isn't like you paid hundred bucks for each ticket so calm down and chill out. Oh and vote no on 8!

If it weren't for your dang lovely username, I'd probably be flaming like a Craigslist lock-in. But it's hard to berate a bearer of tolerance.
