God Forbid has been one of the hardest working metal bands on the scene today. Over the past three records, they have consistantly developed their sound and created some of the most cutting edge modern metal that fans have grown to love. Tonight's show is their first show in Los Angeles and they simply put on a strong show that left quite the impression.

Frontman Byron Davis came out on stage with the band with a vengeance, taking command of the crowd and belting his words into oncoming fans that were bold enough to stand so close. They started the set with 'Better Days,' which immediately got the crowd forming a pit and getting people on the floor moving right away. Davis, along with guitarists Dallas and Doc Coyle, all work well together trading vocal parts and bringing out the variety within the band's heavy sound.

They debuted a new song, 'Empire of the Gun,' which gave fans a taste of their forthcoming record, Earthsblood. The new material works well with older songs such as 'Antihero,' but showing maturity in their sound and growing as a band. All of the touring over the past year has helped them sound much tighter as a unit, and they have not lost a step in any way.

Tonight's show gave the crowd a sneak peak as to what is to come in metal in 2009. God Forbid's performance showed that entering album number four, they are overdue for a breakthrough record and could be making some noise throughout the year.
