the 13th annual nocturnal festival in 2007 was the best of the series to date with the festival taking over downtown LA for a Saturday night. headliners were the Chemical Brothers who brought with them large parts of their new album "we are the night" and incredible visuals from FlatNoseGeorge (aka Adam Smith who has directed a bunch of videos for the Chemicals, The Streets, and many others).

the chemicals' live shows have always been innovative and highly visual in nature -- they invest a ton of time and money making the show a show... a real performance and experience.

in LA, the band played a two-hour set and delved into their back catalogue with everything from hey boy hey girl, block rockin' beats, saturate, out of control etc...

crowd was packed tight for the chemicals so dancers have to move to the back. unfortunately sound set-up was so-so. that was really the only downer and i'm nitpicking to find fault there at all.

pretty unforgettable night as the videos reveal.
