Anyway, as y'all know by now, it started in Coachella in 2006 when Daft Punk busted out the robot suits (no surprise) and this kick-ass pyramid and amazing lighting set-up (a surprise) and totally mind-boggled the Sahara tent. It was a defining moment in the lives of everyone in attendance.
After coachellea, the Alive show hit Dublin twice: first at Marlay Park in 2006 and then again at Oxygen in 2007. I made the second of these shows and, despite Oxygen being a middlin enough of a festival, Daft Punk stood out as the act to see. It's a fairly mad experience (although I don't know why some festivals put them on during the day -- that makes no sense to me).
Anyway, another Daft Punk show in Dublin in 2009 would be classic... especially if the could take over Dublin Castle for an evening or even if they went all out and took on Slane. With some solid support, they could do a Slane show. Regardless, it'd be class to see them again.
