Why?
Paul Daley and Neil Barnes started leftfield in 1989 in London and over the next few years built up a reputation as top-notch producers, original thinkers in electronic music, and fantastic musicians.
With the release of 1995's Leftism, they became one of the most important and adored electronic acts of the 90's. Along with Underworld, Chemical Brothers, and Orbital, they played and headlined the biggest festivals and their music defined the genre. They also like to play their sets really loud to the point of having had their soundsystem banned from the brixton academy for a few years.
I was in the crowd at Homelands 2000 and saw the band live for first time. With MC duties falling on Cheshire Cat and live drumming that shook the whole audience, that concert is a memory I will cherish for a long, long time (it's been 8 years and I still think about it regularly :)
It's not just that Leftfield is/was a great live act. The band has an artillery of the very best electronic tracks with which they can toy, tease, and please the crowd to a rapturous high. Like the la in Los angeles, i suggest you check out the Youtube clip below from sao paulo and help make this show happen.
