Why?
Not being the most original of people, I'm going to borrow and edit from the Los Angeles one -- they summed my feelings up perfectly up well.
It's almost one year since Led Zeppelin did their London reunion show. Despite hoping desperately for one, I wasn't expecting an international tour to follow since the previous two "get-togethers" were not among the band's best or favorite moments (some great interviews with Page explaining why and whay went wrong for the two previous reunion shows).
But seeing and hearing how incredible the London footage is, it really made me want to see them (i think about it on a daily basis!). Obviously LZ are on the supply side of a massive excess demand issue. It should be said that Jason Bonham adds a whole lot to the band -- he's steeped in drumming history and you can tell he's comfortable playing his dad's pieces as if they were his own.
But I'm just jabbering on. I know LZ can command a lot of money but just seeing them would be incredible -- I can't afford $200 per ticket but I hope they can find a way to play in the sort of affordable range for real fans. This whole idea of us fans laying down the money before the scalpers is great -- that way, I'm setting down my price now and not getting gouged later when scalpers jack us.
Admin Update: 3pm PST, 10/27/2008 - all these bids are assumed to require the lineup to include Robert Plant.
